Innovative Finance for Translational Research (IFTR)
Faculty and researchers at the University of Utah are developing innovative interventions that have the potential to have a positive social impact when translated into a community setting, but many lack the access of capital to make this transition. The Sorenson Impact Center is working with University of Utah researchers from a variety of disciplines to identify whether these projects can be translated into the community through innovative financial approaches.
The Sorenson Impact Center is working with 9 interventions to assess if implementation through innovative financial approaches, such as outcomes based financing, is feasible. If a project is deemed feasible, the Sorenson Impact Center will structure and launch an outcomes-based finance transaction within a community setting.
