Austin Heywood currently serves as the manager of film production for the Sorenson Impact Center, where he works to identify, produce and publish films that highlight stories of impact from all over the globe. He oversees a film team made up of talented university students, who gain real world production experience as they develop their skills in every aspect of filmmaking. Collaborating with these students has become Austin’s favorite part of his work for the Center. Prior to joining the Sorenson team, he was the lead videographer for the University of Utah’s marketing team. He has worked freelance in video production for over ten years collaborating with a wide range of clients from NBA athletes to education non-profits to major corporations. Austin hails from West Virginia, but graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Journalism. He bakes sourdough bread most weekends and is a lifelong proponent of the midrange jump shot.
